Al has retired from the firm and is no longer at Harlowe & Falk.
Experience:
Al’s practice focuses on estate planning and trust and estate administration. Al helps people plan the disposition of their estates, anticipate incapacity and end-of-life issues, protect their assets (for them and their heirs), and reduce gift tax, estate tax, and generation-skipping transfer tax burdens.
He has extensive experience with family partnerships, retirement account beneficiary designations, life insurance planning using trusts and funding arrangements, lifetime giving programs using direct gifts and trusts, charitable giving (including the use of private foundations and donor advised funds), and advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries about their rights and responsibilities.
Al also helps business owners arrange for the succession of management and ownership of family-owned businesses and put together shareholder, partnership, and LLC agreements that spell out in advance what happens if one of the owners should die or want to get out of the business.
