Experience:

Laura is a partner and founding member of Harlowe & Falk. Her work with clients focuses on business transactions, taxation and employment law, including review, advice, recommendations and drafting regarding:

• Stock, asset, merger and other acquisition/sale transactions
• Washington State and Federal tax implications of transactions, structuring and contractual arrangements
• Entity choice for business and real property owners
• Contracts related to business operations (e.g., shareholder/member, joint venture, vendor, employment, contractor, restrictive covenant, leasing and licensing agreements as well as loan documentation, notes and security arrangements, etc.)
• Preventative employer policies, procedures and documentation, including employee handbooks

Affiliations, Publications, and Honors:

• Member, Washington Women Lawyers, having been actively involved in the Pierce County Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers, including serving several years as the Secretary of the Chapter
• Past Board and Finance Committee member, Safe Streets Campaign- a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower individuals, families, youth, neighborhoods and organizations to create safe neighborhoods
• Washington Law & Politics has designated Laura as a “Rising Star”, and she was named one the Business Examiner’s 40 Under Forty, which recognizes outstanding South Sound business and community leaders under the age of 40
• Co-authored “Transcending Traditional Notions of Mothering: The Need for Critical Race Feminist Praxis” with Adrien Katherine Wing, which was published in the University of Iowa College of Law Journal of Gender, Race & Justice
